Music Together (0)
BuildaBridge’s Music Competence for Young Children project uses the Music Together® curriculum because it is research-based; provides a wide, cross-cultural, multi-language repertoire of songs, instruments and self-expression and improvisation opportunities; utilizes jazz, classical, folk and spiritual music as well as traditional children’s music; assists in setting the foundation for students to meet National Standards for Arts Education, K-4; incorporates parental involvement to sustain learning, supports pre-literacy skills and holistic (language, cognitive, emotional, social & physical) development; and supports Head Start, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Creative Curriculum® , and NAEYC standards & principles.
In addition, as with all BuildaBridge Community Programs, this project’s music classes will utilize the metaphors that present themselves in the music to reinforce academic (critical thinking, vocabulary, history, geography, mathematics), social and spiritual development (self-efficacy, resilience) and life learning.
