Sowing the Seeds of Spring

Read on to learn about Buildabridge's winter and what's in store for the spring

Winter has finally made its way into spring. While Philadelphia slumbered through the cold, BuildaBridge planted a number of seeds that have been germinating, sprouting and blooming alongside the daffodils and jasmine.

Sanovia Garrett, a BuildaBridge Restorative Teaching Artist and Eastern University alum joined BuildaBridge to help energize BuidaBridge's outreach and communication. New relationships are forming in the larger community because of Sanovia's efforts.

Another cohort of Restorative Teaching Artists trained with BuildaBridge as well as colleagues from as far away as Northern Ireland and Poland. We've been trying to offer a few free slots at every training for community-based artists from beyond Philadelphia.

BuildaBridge partnered with the Georgia E. Gregory Interdenominational School of Music (GEGISOM) to rovide trauma-informed theater-based program and increase access to safe and creative spaces away from gun violence in east north Philadelphia.

BuildaBridge continues to provide music-based wellness programs for HIAS as well as joined a number of other refugee service providers to celebrate the Persian new year, Nowruz, in North Philadelphia.

Most recently, the Alexander Adaire School in Philadelphia's Fishtown neighborhood invited BuildaBridge to begin running songwriting workshops to help foster improved sense of self and community for students.

See below for more exciting and meaningful events happening in the very near future. Thanks so much for being here for BuildaBridge, wishing you good tidings for the warmer days ahead.
