Scottish GroupTake some origami birds from the kids of the Create! Achievement after-school program.  Accompany Dr. and Mrs. Corbitt and Dr. Nix-Early on their recent

visit to Glasgow, Scotland where they presented "Arts and Transformation" to a lively group of artists and community workers from around Scotland.  You get fun, connection and some interesting conversations--on both sides of the "pond".

Create! AchievementThat's what happend this past weekend as the Create! Achievement kids selected four of their favorite birds from the 420 they have made so far.  The response was fantastic from the Scottish friends as they responded to a picture of the kids and gesture of goodwill.  Can you spot the birds in the top picture?

The birds found themselves in interesting places and their images were transported via the internet to the kids who learned about a new culture, and hope to travel abroad themselves some day.

Probably the most interesting place for the birds to appear were on the edge of the fighting swords of Adam the Brave Heart, a stunt man in the Mel Gibson Brave Heart movie.  He raises money for a charity by posing with visitors to Edinburgh Castle.adam the brave heart.jpg  Lots of fun.  Each person who posed with the bird also signed the bird's wings.  Participants in the project included a street bagpipe group, a vegetable vendor, a cab drive and several young people on a train.
