Training for arts service is an important part of the arts and restorative transformation process for BuildaBridge. This past Thursday another group of eager and excellent artists gathered

at the BuildaBridge House for "all things BuildaBridge". The training covers the basics of working with vulnerable children. Training includes the process for child abuse and criminal clearances, basic classroom management, curriculum wiritng and assessment, along with how to get involved. 

 

The training was particularly critical this month as an after school program was defunded and we had to hustle to fill voids in arts classes with teachers and assistants.  Out of the group four volunteered immediately.   Over 80 artists were trained last year and we are headed toward our goal in 2008.  Our goal is to have artists ready for working in the "tough places" on a 24 hour notice through our Artists on Call volounteer program.
