Painting a Brighter Future is BuildaBridge's annual campaign that supports the work BuildaBridge does best: helping children paint, dance, sing, drum, cook, and act a brighter future of hope, healing and resilience. It begins October 1 and extends to December 31 of each year, though you can contribute at anytime. We never turn away an offer of help. Our basic goal is based on the principle of ten. We ask our supporters to give only $10, but also to ask ten of their friends to do the same. You can give more, of course. $10, these days, is little more than the price of a movie ticket or a really good cup of coffee.
Why Give to BuildaBridge?
Our programs are child-centered, hope infused and trauma informed. As a result, kids are more resilient. They gain emotional literacy. They solve problems non-violently. They state a purpose for their lives and articulate goals for their future. And, that is not all. The kids we work with gain hard skills for academic and job success--critical thinking, working as a team, project follow through, increased vocabulary, problem solving and self efficacy. And of course, they learn to be creative.
Graduates of our Institute, now over 525, apply our principles and skills for instilling hope and resilience in new and continuing programs in the US and around the world. We are a well-run organization with a history of success and impact.
Painting a Brighter Future/3:30 Campaign in 2011 reached $16,000 thanks to 92 donors. Thank you so much for your continued support.
