BuildaBridge Institute Intern (Spring—ASAP)
The intern will assist the Institute Project Coordinator with daily activities, research and development of a database of potential funders and development of marketing materials for press and media coverage, as well as contributing to the final evaluation of the Institute. The ideal candidate would hold at least a B.A. degree (M.A. is a plus), have previous experience in marketing and/or project coordination and possess excellent communication skills.
 

Development Intern (Year-Round)
The intern will assist the Development Department with researching and preparing grant proposals. Other duties will include conducting statistical research on communities where the organizations works in order to bolster grant applications and other funding opportunities. Issues to be researched include homelessness in Philadelphia and the benefits of using arts-integrated education in program design. general administrative duties, writing a monthly newsletter and distributing it to contacts, and maintaining a database of donors. The ideal candidate would have a background in marketing/finance as well as good writing skills, interpersonal connections, and experience in grant writing. 

 

Communications Intern (Year-Round)

The intern will assist in a variety of projects. Possible projects include updating website content and design, assisting staff members in creating monthly newsletters, and communication and outreach to media outlets. The candidate will work with the Development Department to produce web blogs, marketing and communications material, assist in special events, and other administrative tasks as required.  A qualified candidate will have strong writing, editing, and website design skills. Knowledge of Joomla!  Software is a plus. Priority will be given to candidates with backgrounds in Communications, Marketing, and  Website Design. Graduate level students are preferred but advanced undergraduates are also encouraged to apply.


Community Programs Intern (Spring and/or Summer)
The intern will provide general administrative support to the three programs of BuildaBridge Community: Create! Discovery (arts classes in homeless shelters and transitional housing), Artology (summer camp fusing visual art with biology), and Community Studio (a capital campaign to create a neighborhood arts therapy center). This is a fantastic way to get the insider’s scoop on how a community arts program works!

 
Volunteer Management Intern (Spring and/or Summer)
The intern will assist the Volunteer Coordinator with recruiting and managing volunteers and contacts. Duties will include maintaining regular email and phone interaction with volunteers, collecting volunteer data including monthly hours worked, helping to coordinate volunteer training sessions, writing job descriptions, and researching recruiting opportunities. The ideal candidate would have excellent interpersonal skills, good writing abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a knack for seeing the big picture.
 

BuildaBridge International Intern (Summer)
The intern will provide general administrative support to the BuildaBridge International, which coordinates Arts Relief and Restoration trips, Goodwill Tours for performing artists, and Overseas Institutes in “the tough parts of the world.” The ideal candidate will have a high level of experience in cross-cultural contexts and strong organizational and writing abilities. Web-based skills are also a plus.
