 Lisa Jo Epstein is a theatre director, educator and
community-based artist who has trained extensively in Paris at the Center
for the Theatre of the Oppressed and in the U.S. with Augusto Boal, founder of
the Theatre of the Oppressed (internationally known as TO). For close to two
decades, Lisa Jo has been involved in the TO movement, and has facilitated
countless workshops in various locations from community centers to grass-roots
activist organizations, schools and universities. She is the co-founder of Gas
& Electric Arts, a movement and text-based theatre company whose work aims
to shimmer with theatricality and shiver with social reality.
