On January 13, 2012, an Introduction to Restorative Practices was sponsored by The Northwest Fund for non-profits that they supported with grants from the Department of Justice. The all day workshop was led by trainer Dr. Vivian Nix-Early and held at the BuildaBridge House in Germantown. Nineteen participants from non-profits serving the Northwest communities attended and experienced an introduction to alternative methods for dealing with conflict, negative behaviors in youth, as well as proactive methods for building community in schools, out-of-school-time settings, and other children and youth programs.

The second workshop in the series, Restorative Circles: Using Circles Effectively, will be held on February 3rd, 2012 and sponsored again by The Northwest Fund. Contact the Northwest Fund for eligibility to attend this workshop.  Dr. Nix-Early will be offering Introduction to Restorative Practices again on Monday June 11, 2012 at the BuildaBridge Institute. For more information and registration for this workshop visit the BuildaBridge Website.  See photos from the Restorative Practices Training.
